As you read my blog, you'll learn that I am looking for where God is at work in our world, and how we can be a part of it. Every day our lives have a direct impact on the kingdom of God, and my hope is to help others find that their purpose in life is to create for the kingdom! Let's be more than passive consumers of this world; instead, let's be active creators making beauty, advocating for justice and practicing peace.

Who is Abby Jones?

Education and Vocation: In May 2012, I graduated with a Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary, and I've been the senior pastor of a church in Nebraska ever since. I was ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church in June 2014. This year I began teaching Introduction to the Bible at a Covenant Discipleship School. I also serve as chair on the Commission on Biblical Gender Equality for the Evangelical Covenant Church.

Family: My husband, Jeff, and I have four daughters: Stella (15), Lucy (7), Mabel (5), and Harper (3). Together we're trying to learn a more sustainable rhythm for our life through gardening, sabbath keeping, shopping locally, and trying to live simply.

Passion: I especially love talking about creation care, creating for the kingdom, social justice and feminism.

Inspiration: Here are a few of the writers I love to read: NT Wright, Richard RohrWendell Berry, Donald Miller, Rob BellShane ClaiborneDiana Butler Bass, Nadia Bolz WeberShauna NiequistSarah Bessey and Rachel Held Evans. This is just a short list, but if you stick around you'll learn about all the rest!
